Guided by our Good Shepherd, Fr. Walsh, St. Margaret Mary Church began a Vision Journey which continues today in it's second phase, parish planning. We invite you to look over these pages to understand our planning process and the progress we have made in working toward a comprehensive three year parish plan for St. Margaret Mary.

We have completed the data gathering stage. Based on the findings gleaned from a variety of interviews, focus groups, and our large parish survey, our Parish Visioning Team has crafted a vision statement for our parish. Our Vision Statement is not a reflection on where we find ourselves today; rather it is oriented to where we are headed, the lofty goal of our endeavors. It is our conception of the ideal parish for a vibrant urban community at the dawn of the twenty first century. You will note that our vision has a minimum amount of words, that it is centered in the Eucharist and is rich in very basic and appropriate New Testament images.

An equally meaningful Mission Statement will be unveiled with our Comprehensive Parish Plan, which is meant to guide us on our journey toward our Vision. The Vision Statement is our “end”, the Mission statement deals with “the means" to get there.

The feedback from the focus groups and the information gleaned from the survey have revealed several areas of parish life calling for special attention during these next three years.
