Crafting the Parish Plan
Having crafted the Parish Vision Statement, our focus turns to developing plans which can move us ever closer to fully realizing that Vision. We consider the "State of our Parish" through the research that has been completed and we empower our members to set forth a course that moves us forward. We do this by establishing Work Teams which will be charged with the responsibility to develop Key Objectives, Tasks, and Action Plans for their special areas of focus. These plans will move us forward over the next three years. The plans of these Work Teams will then be integrated into one comprehensive Parish Plan. In June 2010 Work Teams were formed comprised of nearly 100 parishioners with gifts for or a particular interest in the specific work areas. These teams also include some members of the original Vision Team who act as a bridge to the earlier work completed, and some members of the Parish Council. In order to complete the three levels of planning (Goals, Objectives, and Tasks), these teams are working diligently over the summer so that we can finalize the comprehensive Parish Plan by Mid October. As the Work Teams meet individual members of the teams are being asked to do additional research by consulting ministry leaders, parish staff members and other organizations to uncover ideas and best practices that might be incorporated into our plans. Understanding what has worked well in the past, discovering the success others are having and folding in fresh new ideas will assure that we are successfully moving toward our Vision. |
