Diabetes and Pre-Diabetes Screening – After Masses on Sunday from 9am-1:30pm. Check the church bulletin as we are working on the scheduling for either February 13 or 20th! “The epidemic of type 2 diabetes and its warning sign, prediabetes, is sweeping across the country. By 2020, an estimated 52 percent of the adult population will have diabetes or prediabetes. Yet shockingly, the vast majority--more than 90 percent--of people with prediabetes, and about a quarter of people with diabetes, are unaware of their condition.” Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Find out how you and your family are doing. Professionals will be on hand to test your blood and give you your results within minutes. We will do the Hemoglobin A1C test that shows the average level of blood sugar over the past 2-3 months. Fasting is not necessary. Tests (via finger-prick) are provided at no cost by Family Physician Group. Need more info? Contact Joann Ruiz, parish nurse, at 407-998-5659. |
